Do you want to stand up for your local community and the interests of local residents?
Have you ever considered becoming a local councillor? We have just opened our selection processes to pick our Conservative candidates for the next Warwickshire County Council (WCC) elections in 2025. This could be you!
WCC is not just responsible for charging tax; its actions affect our everyday lives, including on roads and pavements, social care, libraries, education, public safety, waste management, trading standards, and much more. To run effectively, we need people wanting to stand for election as councillors - residents who care passionately about where you live and are willing to stand up for the issues that matter most.
Whilst each Council needs political thinkers, most councillors are not politicians; they are local champions who believe in public service and want to do what is right for their neighbours and the local community. Many people who would make good councillors don’t volunteer because they don’t know what's involved or may simply not know how to go about it. That is why we want to make you aware of this opportunity.
Our Deputy Chairman Political, Moira-Ann Grainger, has extensive knowledge and experience of being a councillor, and is happy to answer any questions you may have, or talk to you further about this opportunity.
